FROM THE PRESIDENT
to the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Educational Association's website. I would like to begin by saying that it is an honor to serve as your President. I am grateful to all of the individuals in this organization to continue to work, devote their time, and lend to the vision that makes the SCWCEA the strong, successful association it is today.
The Board and staff hope your plans include participation in our many educational programs. The Annual Medical Seminar is scheduled for March 8 & 9 at the Hyatt Regency in Greenville, SC. We are excited to return to the Upstate. The focus of this meeting will be recovery and rehabilitation. The sessions will be some of the best with exceptional faculty. If you are not able to join us, we hope you will make plans to be with us later in the year.
Our 2020 One Day Seminar scheduled for Friday, May 15th at the Columbia Marriott has been cancelled due to COVID-19. Our emphasis this spring and summer is to assemble an exceptional Annual Educational Conference that will be educational and beneficial for all workers' compensation professionals.
We will top off our year with the very popular Annual Educational Conference, October 16 - 21 at the Marriott Resort & Spa on beautiful Hilton Head Island. The program committee will meet this Spring to begin putting sessions together. Details and registration will be available this summer.
Memberships for 2020 are underway. After holding the line for over a decade with no increase in the cost of dues, and with annual operating costs now outpacing revenue growth, the SCWCEA has reached a critical point financially. It's for this reason that the SCWCEA Board of Directors is implemented an increase effective January 1, 2020. Current dues are $200 per person. Your membership is critical in keeping the association financially sustainable, strong, relevant and influential.
Please keep in mind that all current SCWCEA members must renew no later than March 31 in order to take advantage of the discounted member registration fee at our Annual Educational Conference in the fall, and any new members must be enrolled no later than July 1 to receive the same benefit
Donna Croom, our Executive Director, is available to address any questions or concerns about membership, costs, registration, credits and more.
I look forward to hearing from the membership and seeing you all at future programs.
