FROM THE PRESIDENT
to the South Carolina Workers' Compensation Educational Association's website. I would like to begin by saying that it is an honor to serve as your President. I am grateful to all of the individuals in this organization to continue to work, devote their time, and lend to the vision that makes the SCWCEA the strong, successful association it is today.
The Board and staff hope your plans include participation in our many educational programs. The Annual Medical Seminar took place March 8 & 9 at the Hyatt Regency in Greenville, SC. We were excited to return to the Upstate. The focus of this meeting was on recovery and rehabilitation. If you were unable to join us, we hope you will make plans to be with us later in the year.
Our 2020 One Day Seminar scheduled for Friday, May 15th at the Columbia Marriott was cancelled due to COVID-19. Our emphasis this spring and summer is to assemble an exceptional Annual Educational Conference that will be educational and beneficial for all workers' compensation professionals.
We will top off our year with the very popular Annual Educational Conference, October 18 & 19 at the Marriott Resort & Spa on beautiful Hilton Head Island. The theme for this meeting is Staying In The Game. Our main concern is your safety during this pandemic. We are currently planning to offer in-person and virtual options so you may participate in this program and will provide details and open registration in a few weeks.
Please note that all current SCWCEA Board of Directors has extended the deadline to renew or join the association. That new deadline is August 1st. Memberships must be active by that date in order to receive the discounted member registration rate this fall.
Donna Croom, our Executive Director, is available to address any questions or concerns about membership, costs, registration, credits and more.
I look forward to hearing from the membership and seeing you all at future programs. Please stay safe and be well.
